    Visiting from Dallas(where texmex places are on practically every street corner), saw this place nearby on Yelp and decided to check it out.

    I had the Chilaquiles Verde and an order of sopapilla. The Chilaquiles were very good and inexpensive too, though the sopapilla was a big circle instead of little pillows. Would go again, though I would skip the sopapilla next time.

    Really good food but the service isn't always great. Especially at the counter when coming in to get sat and paying when leaving

    This is the worse Mexican restaurant I have ever been to! The staff, especially the young waitress was so rude! Me and my boyfriend didn't even stay to eat! We went in to Las Lomas in Dyersburg also and the staff there was very nice. They should send their staff to Southaven, MS for a lesson in human decency! I grew up in Southaven and any Mexican Restaurant I've ever been to there the staff have always been so nice and awesome!

    I know, I know Mexican food is basically the same and I agree. However, when you factor in cleanliness, atmosphere, value and food quality, Los Portales is a winner. It's in a sort of strip mall so I was skeptical but anything for a review. The place looks so much better inside than out. They have 12 beers on tap and seemingly delicious margaritas, which I will try on my next visit. The food was great with generous portions and very reasonably priced. Bottom line: worth the drive for this Mexican place!

    Great food!!! Tried the Margarona and my co-worker drank .99 beer.
    Fajita Bowl was good!!!
